I've got this impression that there exists a typical American ex-JW man, with this specific look, or is it that many Americans look alike, like...statistics tell ?

So, Indian surgeons performed this tricky intervention, seems that Bengalore's fame as the Indian High tech capital city is not over rated. Kudos to the team, also for having respected the parents' stand, whatever we may think about the latter.

For sure, JWs have never cared much about advancement of science but it could well be that they have been instrumental in this progress. There is a saying which goes (happily transported by JWs, granted) that two categories of people refuse transfusions, doctors and JWs. I'm neither one nor( de facto) the other but I wouldn't mind being added to the list.

why i wept bitterly in front of two elders......
by oompa innot sure if i ever shared this...but have seen several "sharing" threads here lately and it motivated me..... when i met with the co and po about some doubts and an important question....and when i got the co's answer.....i could not speak....i put my head down and just started crying...not sobbing cause i fought it back...finally the only words to come out were..."i am going to have to leave my wife and son"....and they were like wtf?...but in jw lingo of course.
see i knew in that instant...that very moment....that i had been lied to my entire life...and my stack of doubts i had been piling on the shelf and waiting on jehovah were all valid....and i knew i would never fit in again...not even with my wife and son...that i would never be the spiritual head they needed and wanted.....that was almost 4 years ago...man time flies...and yep...now i am separated from my jw wife...and yep...i did not fit in...not even with her...and my son is older now and moved out but we are not close.
btw...i had printed out all 12 places in rev.

.the name jehovah is NOT EVEN IN the new testament
Oompa, are you sure you are not deceiving yourself ? Did you really HAVE TO leave your family for the sole reason that you would not be their spiritual head , or is it that you just plainly wanted to leave them ? Did you ask yourself whether they wanted you to stay even without this headship thing ? You might have kept closer to your son by now. Can't see the connection with Jehovah's name in the scriptures anyway. I know it is not in the NT and I'm still at home.

New light: Generation
by 5thGeneration ingot some info from the annual meeting.. unofficially, the 'generation' is now categorized as 2 groups.
the first is 'the 1914 group' and the second is the younger anointed 'contemporaries' who 'actually work for a period of time with those anointed ones'.. the 'generation' is now 'the lifespan of those who actually saw the beginning of the sign and then the lifespan of those who worked with those who saw the beginning of the sign'.. here we go again....

The 'Generation' is now 'the lifespan of those who actually saw the beginning of the sign and then the lifespan of those who worked with those who saw the beginning of the sign'.
What scriptures do they contort to "prove" this new understanding?
An elder paid me a visit this evening and gave me a clue as to how they are going to find a justification to this new explanation : The gifts which the HS bestowed on the apostles and first disciples , that is Healing, prophesying and speaking in tongues, have been passed by them onto the next generation of disciples and only on those ones. These special gifts came to an end afterwards. Same thing here, go figure...

had second thoughts about divorcing my JW wife...
by oompa injust this week after being separated a little over two months....and funny cause i just got a pm from a newbie about what it is like to leave all...including your wife or husband....anyway, i spent the day with my wife and we talked about it...it is so sad....even though we are very different in natures...i again concluded there is enough in common to be happy and grow old and avoid the very high costs to both of a divorce....except we just cant figure out how to have totally separate friends and social lives....that is kinda big and may still be the deal breaker....soooooo frustrating and infuriating..........oompa.
here was my reply to the newbie pm:.
leaving was terribly hard as my wife is a wonderful and attractive person...my 22 year old son is also a good dub...and my parents are not real old yet and he is a hardcore elder.

When we travel, it's just her and me, with the occasional trip to the KH for her.
OTWO, I plan to resort to this diplomatic compromise while we will be on holiday in Martinique next summer, just in order not to let my wife feel lonely there when going to the KH. French protestant king-to-be Henri IV had to become a catholic before being allowed to enter Paris and be able to acceed to the throne. He couldn't care less about this religious fuss (was more interested in chicks, he is the one who said that until he was 40 he thought it was a bone), declared that Paris was worth a mass (Paris vaut bien une messe) and became a catholic. Bon roi Henri we call him .

Through a Darkened Pane
by compound complex inmy frequent walks these last few years about the neighborhood so familiar to me would ordinarily be construed a pleasant enough non-event.
a little mild exercise - taken in small doses to keep the joints operating properly - and a keen eye peeled for the ever-changing face of nature have rendered the daily promenade a suitable diversion.
until recently.

CoCo,
I 've seen a couple of times that you are fluent in French, have you read Proust ? sounds sometimes like he influenced your writing. Anyway you are a real literature man, IMO.

Oompa,
I've quitted JWs, my wife is still in and we are still together, not even starting to envisage separation, simply because we both think that no religion is worth breaking a family, unless of course one of the partners turns so fanatical that it would make common life unbearable. I don't know all the ins and outs of your situation but is it really so in your houshold ? just saying that, under near normal even though less than ideal conditions, staying with your spouse is possible, and even to be wished (you both said YES once, even in the face of potential adversity), if only to show the WTSers that you are the one, not them, controlling your family life.
